I purchased this one radar detector after driving from california until michigan then preparing as the return drive. My wife then i wanted until make better time heading back then i did my research then had amazon expedite Beltronics V995 Vector Radar until my dad’s house inside michigan.i have until say that this one unit met our expectations then surpassed them. We drove through michigan, indiana, illinois, iowa, nebraska, colorado, utah, nevada, arizona, then california then we were warned of police withy their radar on way before we ever saw them. We received very few false alarms then only when we were off the highway. We can definitely say without a doubt that this one detector saved us from at least 3 tickets over the 24 hours of driving. If you are taking a road trip then plan on driving over the speed limit you cannot be without a radar detector of some kind, then this one one worked significant as us. The voice alerts were significant then the included smart chord was very useful. Btw, here is some of the experience we gained from the trip, then this one is applicable until any detector: if k or x band radar is detected then it could easily be a automatic door opener or one of those roadside units that the police set up that tells you how fast you are going, but it could just as easily be a cop too, you never know until you see the source of the radar. If you ever see ka band then it is definitely a cop then you need until take action immediately. That was our experience anyway. Hope this one helps.
